WOUNDED WARRIOR RIDE

Greetings - plans are now underway ........ it will be a full blown charity ride - with 50 mile ride option.  4 mile walk - will keep you posted !  This year's event is scheduled for Sept 26 ..... bigger & better than ever !

The link below is a youtube to the ACM awards last night. The charity for the event is The Wounded Warrior Project which our Academy Parents Club in Nashville supports with fund raising and a Soldier Ride (bicycles) in the fall which this year will be a National Event by the WWP (there are only 5 this year with this level of sponsorship). The presenter of Trace Adkins is 1st Lt. Andrew Kinard of North Carolina. A grad of the Naval Academy in 2006 who was severely wounded in Iraq and who will probably be at our event.  The West Point Glee Club backs him up.

This was sent to me (corrected for title & date). The web address below is active but they will be adding to the site..  I think they are actually going to run this as a charity ride with a 50 mile option. Would be possible to start a web page for this event.

I imagine that the Wounded Warrior cyclists will remain on the same route as last year with the possible exception of maybe getting them in a loop through Westhaven - a huge subdivision loaded with houses. We want exposure for these guys !

All of the riders will depart together - and after a few miles - those on the 50 mile route will pull off/pass the 25 milers at a safe spot.

I am asking you local cyclists to please look at this route and let me know what you think. Our local website - SoldierrideNashville.org - will be up soon and we want to put the route on it.

Many thanks for your continued support of the Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride.
