POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & PRACTICES
SOURCE OF WEB CONTENT -

Web Master
Maintenance of this Web Site is provided as a courtesy and at no expense to the Fogbee Clycing Club (aka FOGBEES). Please help by forwarding all issues to Web Master (fogbees@gmail.com)If you need help with any Internet activity, don't hesitate to contact the Web Master.

Purpose
This Website exists to promote and share activities of the Fogbee Clycing Club. The Web Master welcomes all suggestions for content and improvement. Most of the content is drawn from the FogBee Blog.  Please help.

Our Blog
Fogbee blog provides a quick and easy means for members to share ideas, interests, and upcoming events in the form of plans, reviews, pictures, photoshows, etc.  The Club encourages all members to use it.  When POSTS and COMMENTS have a long term general interest, the Web Master transfers them (with minor editing and re-organization) to a Web Page.

Photos & Shows
Share you digital photos either on Snapfish, Flickr, or Picasa.  The Club also recommends PhotoShows or YouTube presenta-tions, which are easy to create and provide a fantastic way to relive an adventure.

Maps & Cue Sheets
Create and store ride maps with cue sheets using MapMyRide.  To enable all members to search and share these maps, associate them with the Group FOGBEES.  Instead of paying for hard-copies of these maps and cue sheets, see instructions for making hard-copies.  This Web Site has links to maps/cues of the more popular routes.  To get your Cue Sheet on the Internet, e-mail it to the Web Master.

Online Storage
Since this Web Site has limited storage, we have to use FREE stores on other sites.  With content that requires significant space, such as photos (use SnapFish/Flicker), Shows (use Comcast), movies (use YouTube), etc., create your master piece using one of these tools and send the URL to the Web Master

Ownership
All content on this Web Site, including photos on SnapFish and maps on MapMyRide, but excluding links to other Internet sites is the property of the Fogbee Cycling Club and are intended strictly for educational and instructional purposes as allowed under fair-use provisions of Copy Right Law. All commercial or for-profit applications of any content herein are prohibited.

At no cost to the club, members of the Fogbee Cycling Club donate internet access, storage, domain name registration, techni-cal support, articles, blog posts/comments, etc.  Such donations in no way limit the joint ownership of any content by the Fogbee Cycling Club, including the name FOGBEESFogbee Cycling Club, or comparable references.  Such joint ownership surives any individual member.

Links to Other Sites
This website contains links to other websites over which Fogbees have no control. Consequently, Fogbees assume no responsibility for the content of these sites and are not liable for any claims arising from reliance on the information on these websites.  Listing and linking should not be taken as an endorsement of any kind. We cannot guarantee that these links work all of the time.  If you find a "dead" or inaccurate link, please help but notifying the Web Master.
COMMUNICATIONS -

Our Blog
Communicate via the Fogbee blog. Mailing Lists, Google/Yahoo Groups, and e-mail are unreliable.  ISP's such as Comcast and AOL continually block e-mail and IP addresses indiscriminately and without notification.  The sender never knows if his/her message got through.  For important messages, post them on the Fogbee blog - the club bulletin board.

The blog has one major negative - it can be read by anyone in the world with access to the Internet.  Please be careful of what you post.  Use good judgement.   Never include highly personal content that can jeopardize anyone's safety or security.

The opinions expressed by the FOGBEE Bloggers and those providing comments are theirs alone, and do not reflect the opinions of anyone other than the author. FOGBEES jointly or individually are not responsible for the accuracy of any of the information supplied by the individual Bloggers.

The blog has several administrators who remove dated-material, such as old ride posts, organize posts to facilitate access, and on rare occasion edit/delete POSTS with harmful, objectionable, or erroneous content.  However, each author may edit/delete (or change posting dates) any POST that they submitted.

Google/Yahoo Groups, MySpace, Facebook
The Internet provides many ways to communicate.  However, not everyone is comfortable or skilled in using the Internet.  Trivi-alities to some are major hurdles to others.  Our policy is to include as many members as possible with basic, reliable, and non-intrusive communications.   Alternate forms of communications are fine as long as members also include a POST or COMMENT on our blog.

Meetings
Generally, our meetings are informal gatherings at Big Looy's.  If any member feels they have an important issue that requires the attention of the club, they should call for a club gathering, set the schedule, and distribute an Agenda.
RIDES / TOURS -

Local Rides
The Club typically rides as a group on Tuesday, Thursday, and SaturdayAll members are encouraged to take their turns designing and leading rides.  However, if anyone rides on any day and wants company, please POST to the blog.  Fogbees welcome ALL cyclists to join them on their rides.  Just show up and introduce yourself.  We have a "no drop policy."  We maintain a membership list of cell-phone and land-line numbers that we WILL contact if someone goes missing.  If you are new to any Fogbee ride, please be sure the leader has a way to contact you, and if you choose not to complete or to deviate from the route, be sure to notify the ride leader.

Joint Club Rides
Riding the same routes can get a little boring.  Fogbees enjoy joint rides with other area Clubs.  If your club would like to ride with the Fogbees either on your turf or ours, please contact any Fogbee, who will set up the ride with the Fogbees.  On joint rides each club maintains their own policies for the safety and security of their members.  We do request that all Clubs visiting our turf abide by Traffic Laws as they apply to cyclists and are courteous to ALL our neighbors, even when they are piloting a big smelly vehicle.

Tours
The Fogbees is a Touring Club and schedules several over-nighters every year to the popular cycling routes.  Cyclists invite the non-riding significant others to meet with them for an evening of socializing.  Entertainment is provided to keep non-riding participants busy while the cyclists are peddling.  Fogbee membership is not necessary to join in these activities.  We welcome almost everyone.

Liability
By using this web site and participating in any FOGBEE activity, all participants acknowledge bicycling is a potentially hazardous activity. Injuries while bicycling can result from collision with vehicles, animals, other riders, and attempts to avoid such collisions; from poor road conditions; from the effects of weather; from overexertion and inadequate training; and from mechanical failure of bicycles. All participants accept these risks; they and their heirs, executors, and any person entitled to act on their hereby waive and release the FOGBEE Cycling Club and its members from all claims of liability.

ADVOCACY -

The only way to insure long-term availablility of cycling facilites is to take the initiative (i.e. don't wait to be invited) and get involved with the policital process. Fogbee Cycling Club encourages everyone to participate in community, cycling club coalitions, government-sponsored, etc committees to advance, protect, and plan cycling facilities.  Members may represent the Club only to the extent they openly (Posts on the Blog or this Web Site) share transactions/agendas/minutes of such activities and, as necessary, encourage and accept the consensus opinion of the Club.
